<image:caption>We provide materials that are relevant, accurate, and seek to empower our children. We often see schools use outdated textbooks and materials that glorify some events and omit others. We will create and provide families with resources that grow our children’s confidence. We will provide direct support to parents so they can teach their children about their rich history.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Vision - We seek joy and pride in our history.</image:title>
<image:caption>Our mission is to teach our children and students to see themselves in their history. We curate and create fun, interactive, and easy to implement lessons so that parents can find ways to instill greatness in their children. We use research- based methods. We rely on primary sources. We ensure to present the full story. Our team of educators and parents see themselves as the purveyors of pride. We want our children to see themselves in these lessons so that they may thrive in the world. — In service, Kelly History Teacher, Chief Writer, Mom</image:caption>

      <image:title>About 1 - It all begins with an idea.</image:title>
<image:caption>Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.</image:caption>

<image:caption>K.A.M. is rooted in the concept of Sankofa. Sankofa is word from the Akan tribe in Ghana. The literal translation of the word and the symbol is “it is not taboo to fetch what is at risk of being left behind.” Our program aims to give children an opportunity to learn and to tell their family stories for generations to come.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Knowing About Me - K.A.M. Program Goals:</image:title>
<image:caption>Children will learn about different types of families, be able to identify members of their own family, and learn important vocabulary such as diaspora, lineage, and genealogy. They will learn how to think and act like historians. They will begin to build their own family trees. They will prepare historical accounts of select events that give their families pride.</image:caption>
